The Madeleine Project began as a class exploration of Marcel Proust’s In Search of Lost Time — his monumental meditation on memory, time, and the texture of lived experience. It includes an AI trained on Proust’s writing, AI-generated art drawn from scenes in the novel, and a reflection on what it means to make art with machines. It is, in its own way, the origin of everything else on this site.
